Solomo's Museum

It is known that our national poet Dionysios Solomos lived most of his life until his death (1798-1957) at Corfu, where he wrote the biggest but also the most important part of his work, including also the working of “Free Besiegers. The house that the poet lived, wrote and died, as long as it was destroyed by the bombardments of the Second Global War, it was erected later and it continues to be until today. At the house of Solomos, was established by the Company of Corfu Studies and it is operated as “Museum of Solomos”, the Center of Solomic Studies .At the Museum are watched over the desk of the poet and a little autograph. But also, there is exposed photographic material, which is referred to the rooms, the persons and the events that have connection with the life, the work and the era of Solomos”. There is also wealthy Solomic library, which continuously is enrichened and includes the old publications of “Hymn to Freedom”, and portraits of the Poet and members of the known Solomic College. |
