The Ionian Parliament is found on Moustoxidi street, former Plati Kantouni street. From 1817 until 1823 the members of the Parliament of Eptanisos met at Vailou Hall, in the Town hall square.

From that period and until 1849 the Parliament met in the palace, in an assembly room on the east wing, in the place where the Municipal Art gallery is accommodated today.

In 1849 the Parliament was transferred in the same public building it is found today. In 1852, however, this building was burned after a likely arson. After the fire the 10th Parliament assembled in the courts and agreed on the construction of a new building.

Today, the building is used by the members of the Municipal Council for meetings. The interior of the Parliament has a balcony which is supported by an elliptic peristyle and gives the citizens the ability to follow-up the meetings.
